It's 10pm, and tomorrow morning I'll dip my rear tire in the water, and ride off towards San Francisco. I drove down here to Yorktown, VA with my dad yesterday. We were in his 78 Toyota pickup, with the Skamper on the back. No AC, but we were some pretty cool dudes. I'll post a picture to Facebook for now:) Had some great talks with my dad, as he remembered some stories about adventures he had in his life. I took some notes- there's material for a wonderful short story of two. Then had a lazy day today while we saw some of the famous sites of the early settlements and of the revolutionary war.
Tonight I'm staying in an amazing little parish house of the episcopal church here in Yorktown. I just called this man, John, a really nice fella who lives across the street from the church- his number was printed right there on my maps for "cyclists only lodging" Beautiful waterfront property. Comfy beds. AC. There's young man here, Angus, who just finished his tour today from Oregon and ending here in Yorktown. Was fun to chat with him a bit. He assures me it's gonna be such a beautiful blast with so many more great folks like John here at this church. Ok, I'm to sleep.
